Popularly known in Horsham for his cheery disposition and sunny outlook, the, passing of Mr. John Edward Cooper, of Green Park, on Wednesday, will be regretted by a large number of friends and relatives. Hale and hearty up till about six weeks ago, when he entered the Horsham Base Hospital, the late Mr. Cooper was 68 years of age and followed the occupa- tion of a cook, although he frequently turned his attention to other occupations as gardening. He was a revered member of the Horsham Salvation Army and officiated in the band as base drummer for many years. He was born-at Birmingham, England, and for a time lived in South Australia, where he was married at Port MacDonald. He came to Victoria 26 years ago and has spent most of his time in Horsham. He leaves a grown up family of five daughters and two sons, viz, Florrie (Mrs. George. Barnett, Horsham), Millie (Mrs. Frank Nordberg. Brunswick), Emily (Mrs. Wm. Living, Horsham). "'Ted," (Gerang), Leslie (Ringwood) Jessie (Mrs. Alex. Bowden, Lake Kar- nak), Lillie (Mrs. Herb. Barnett, Horsham). One son, Henry, is deceased. His wife predeceased him five years ago. The funeral took place at the Horsham cemetery yesterday. The cof- fin-bearers were Messrs. V. Williamson G. Knonagel, L. H. Cooper, H. Barnett, G. H. Barnett and W. Living. The service at the grave was conducted by Ensign Downing. Messrs Weight and Son had charge of the arrangements.
