Next stop was the the seaside town of St Ives. As with Port Isaac, the car was parked in a long-term community car park and
left there for the duration of the visit. We also had our first good chance to hit a laundry, which was very welcome.

There is a massive tidal range along this coast, at low tide the fishing boats get stranded and you can walk among
them.

We took a coastal walk around town. This is the view from the St Nicholas Chapel back over town. Nicholas of Myra
is one of several patron saints of sailors.
Lower left
View from Mans Head of the Porthmeor surfing beach and The Island. There were large groups of teenagers and young
adults getting surfing lessons on this beach.

We stayed in the Western Hotel, and someone who lived next to the adjacent back yard of the hotel was baiting gulls
with chips for the amusement of their cat. The gulls seemed well aware of the game they were playing.
