To celebrate our anniversary we decided to book a few nights at Ibusuki Hakusuikan (指宿白水館), a very nice hot springs hotel in Ibusuki. We caught this quaint limited express train from Kagoshima to Ibusuki and got a taxi to the hotel. Like many places in Kyushu the hot water comes bubbling out of the ground, and Ibusuki also offers "hot sand" baths on the beach, though we didn't partake.
