We did a one way rental of a Corolla (rego 50-58) from Toyota rent-a-car in Kagoshima, for dropoff in Hakata. Our trusty Corolla hybrid got at least 60 miles per gallon, we could have done the entire road trip on a single tank of petrol. Here it's parked at the Kaba Island Lighthouse 樺島灯台, after getting us up a fairly gnarly single lane mountain road.
