Taipei's spectacular MRT rail system can get busy, but passenger flow on/off trains is efficent and fast. We bought a 3 day
FunPass (transport-only option) and it lived up to its name. Note that the
FunPass doesn't get you on to the Danhai LRT to the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf (淡水漁人碼頭), you will need to buy an additional
LRT one-day pass at the information booth just before the LRT boarding area at Hongshulin Station (紅樹林).
