John Oliver's campaign
to vote the Australasian crested grebe, a.k.a. Pūteketeke, "Bird of the Century" was quite the chuckle.
Here's the nesting boxes locals have floated/installed at the Wānaka marina, chock full of breeding Pūteketekes.
